L J POULTRY
Happy Homes for Happy Chickens Produce Happy Eggs
The Sablepoot is also widely knows as the Dutch Booted Bantam. As its name suggests the birds have extravagant feathering on the feet . With no large counterpart the Sablepoot is classed as a true bantam.
Sablepoots are usually friendly and calm. They are good foragers, and do less damage to garden plants because of their heavily feathered feet. Hens readily go broody, and lay small eggs that are white or tinted in colour. Their egg production is good for bantams, with hens laying approx 160 eggs in late spring and through the summer.
